About the Accommodation subsector
The accommodation subsector is part of the accommodation and food services sector.
Industries in the Accommodation subsector provide lodging or short-term accommodations for travelers, vacationers, and others. There is a wide range of establishments in these industries. Some provide lodging only; while others provide meals, laundry services, and recreational facilities, as well as lodging. Lodging establishments are classified in this subsector even if the provision of complementary services generates more revenue. The types of complementary services provided vary from establishment to establishment.

- Traveler Accommodation: NAICS 7211
- RV (Recreational Vehicle) Parks and Recreational Camps: NAICS 7212
- Rooming and Boarding Houses: NAICS 7213

This section provides information relating to employment and unemployment in accommodation.
While most data are obtained from employer or establishment surveys, information on industry unemployment comes from a national survey of households.

This section presents data for the industry on the number of workplace fatalities and the rates of workplace injuries and illnesses per 100 full-time workers in accommodation. An injury or illness is considered to be work-related if an event or exposure in the work environment either caused or contributed to the resulting condition or significantly aggravated a pre-existing condition.
